“Time-honored tradition meets progressive art.”
Hanging by a Thread started as an
art-leasing company designed to serve the greater Charlotte area. My
original intention was to showcase my mother’s lifetime of work
dedicated to developing the fiber arts. Today, I make and sell
one-of-a-kind art hangings, many of which reflect an international
flavor or nature theme. Purses, totes and carry-on bags have also
found their way into my portfolio.
I take special orders, often for events such as weddings and
baby showers because they are, well, special. These pieces
become family heirlooms when you provide the special touches. I
incorporate family treasures like buttons from grandma’s baptism
gown, lace from mom’s wedding dress, or a vintage handkerchief
into small wall hangings. Each piece is uniquely embellished and
embroidered with your name and dates to reflect your special
occasion.
My pieces are carried at the Museum of York County Museum Store and
BacInTyme coffee and cafe shop in Fort Mill.
A portion of proceeds from sales benefits the Interfaith Hospitality
Network.
