Wendy has been painting in many different forms for about 30 years.
She started in decorative painting in 1979, moving on to watercolors after taking a series
of workshops in 1999.
She was an elementary school teacher in Northern Virginia for many years and in her spare time taught art to home schoolers. After she retired she became part of a grant-supported group called “Young at Art” that taught art to preschoolers.
She moved to Tega Cay 3 1/2 years ago with her husband so that they could be near their children. Her love of teaching took her to the Children’s Attention Home where she started an “art program” 2-1/2 years ago. She also teaches classes to local children and adults. Wendy said, “Whenever I work with a new group of children, I learn something more about myself as an artist.”
She has also painted murals for people’s homes, her church and the Children’s Attention Home. Wendy’s favorite painting mediums are watercolor and pastels. She paints mainly from her own photos. She is a member of the Tega Cay Art League and the Fort Mill Art Guild.
